St. Helens faced Scappoose in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Lions came out on top against the Indians by a score of 4-1. The win was nothing new for the Lions as they're now sitting on 11 straight.

Eme Curaming spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, St. Helens' victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Halli Heys, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

St. Helens' win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-1. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.6 runs. As for Scappoose, with the loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-2.

St. Helens will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Indians: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
