Baseball Recap: Fife Comes Up Short

Fife was the 7-2 winner over Steilacoom when they last played one another on Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Trojans fell just short of the Sentinels by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday. The game marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Dylan Hoots was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one double. That double marked the first that he hit this season.

Fife's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-5. As for Steilacoom, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Fife is set to square off against their familiar foe Eatonville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Steilacoom will take on rival Orting at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
