Basketball Game Preview: Vardaman Rams vs. West Lowndes Panthers

Vardaman is 0-7 against West Lowndes since January of 2018 but things could change on Friday. The Vardaman Rams will head out to face off against the West Lowndes Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Vardaman is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They took a blow against Okolona, falling 93-65.

Meanwhile, West Lowndes came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 56-45.

West Lowndes pushed their record up to 9-9 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points per game. As for Vardaman, their loss dropped their record down to 6-13.

Vardaman lost to West Lowndes on the road by a decisive 73-54 margin in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Vardaman avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
