Baseball Recap: Oceanside Comes Up Short

Oceanside made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Vista, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Pirates fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 4-2 on Saturday. The loss continues a trend for the Pirates in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost five in a row.

Oceanside's defeat dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Vista, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-7.

Coming up, Oceanside will challenge Westview at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pirates' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolverines have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Vista, they will square off against Fallbrook at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight.
