Basketball Recap: Janilla Hanson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Cheney Tech over Wright Tech

Cheney Tech lost against Wright Tech back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The contest between the Cheney Tech Chargers and the Wright Tech Warriors didn't end well, with the Cheney Tech Chargers falling 58-39. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cheney Tech's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Janilla Hanson, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 23 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Hanson a new career-high in boards. Ella Moskites was another key player, dropping a double-double with 11 points and 15 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Cheney Tech smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Cheney Tech's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Wright Tech, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-3.

Cheney Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wright Tech, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Kaynor RVT at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
