Piedmont Hills had to skate by with only a one-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 38-point drubbing they dealt Independence on Friday. The Pirates took their contest with ease, bagging a 45-7 win over the 76ers. The victory continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the 76ers: they've now won six in a row.

Piedmont Hills got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Travis Linane out in front who picked up 30 receiving yards and one TD, and also threw for 64 yards and one touchdown. Jet Caglia got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Piedmont Hills, adding 21 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Donovan Johnson, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Piedmont Hills' record now sits at 2-0. As for Independence, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
