Croatan came into Friday's game looking for another win against West Carteret, but Jack Bell wouldn't allow it. The West Carteret Patriots secured an 82-77 W over the Croatan Cougars on Friday thanks to Bell, who went 13-for-22 to rack up 36 points and six rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 45.1% shooting accuracy.

Cameron Pavy was another key player, going 8-for-15 en route to 20 points and five steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in steals.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kannon McBride, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 11 boards. McBride's afternoon made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Trey Jones, who dropped a double-double with 26 points and ten rebounds.

West Carteret's record is now 12-7. As for Croatan, their record now sits at 15-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Carteret will venture away from home to face off against Swansboro at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Swansboro will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something West Carteret surely won't give up without a fight. As for Croatan, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Cougars face off against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Richlands has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
