Softball Recap: Leopold Has No Trouble Against Meadow Heights

Leopold won the last time they faced Meadow Heights and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 19-9 win. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by nine runs or more this season.

Piper Lincoln made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Lincoln was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

In other batting news, Leopold got a massive performance out of Ava Jansen, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave Jansen a new career-high. Malia VanderMierden was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Leopold's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-11. As for Meadow Heights, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-16.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Leopold will take on rival Advance at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Meadow Heights is set to face off against their familiar foe Richland at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.
