Softball Recap: Nettleton Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Nettleton extended their winning streak to four on Saturday, bumping them up to 4-0-1. They walked away with a 15-10 win over the Mooreville Troopers. That's two games straight that the Tigers have won by exactly five runs.

The team relied heavily on Bailey Payne, who went 2-for-4 with three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February of 2025.

Nettleton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .368 or higher in four consecutive games.

As for Mooreville, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. The loss continues a trend for them in their meetings with Nettleton: they've now lost eight in a row.

On Mooreville's side, Abbi Haynes was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Haynes is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellee White, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Looking ahead, Nettleton will challenge Amory at 12:40 p.m. on Saturday. As for Mooreville, they will take on Tupelo at 11:20 a.m. on Saturday.
