The Watsonville Wildcatz will challenge the King City Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Watsonville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.
On Saturday, Watsonville got the win against Pajaro Valley by a conclusive 11-2. The Wildcatz haven't had any issues with the Grizzlies recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Mathew Silva made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has become a key player for Watsonville: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most three hits, but 8-10 otherwise. Silva was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brody Barto, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Francisco Rodriquez-Bermundez was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Watsonville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 6-2 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, King City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against North Salinas, falling 10-0.
King City's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Watsonville, their victory bumped their record up to 10-11.
King City's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Watsonville hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .367. It's a different story for King City, though, as they've only averaged .225. Will they be able to contain Watsonville's hitters?
Watsonville came out on top in a nail-biter against King City in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 2-0. Will the Wildcatz repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
