Basketball Recap: Lakota Comes Up Short

Lakota suffered their biggest defeat since January 10th on Tuesday. They came up short against the Calvert Senecas, falling 66-44. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 547th, while the Senecas are ranked 178th).

Gavin Wagner continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Calvert, almost dropping a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. Wagner's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Ritzler, who posted ten points and eight assists.

Lakota's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Calvert, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 16-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakota will welcome New Riegel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in New Riegel's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups. As for Calvert, they will be playing at home against Woodmore at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Calvert is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.7 points per game this season.
