Recap: St. John's Catholic Prep Vikings vs. Severn School Admirals
If The St. John's Catholic Prep Vikings were feeling good off their 34-0 takedown of the Annapolis Area Christian Eagles last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. St. John's Catholic Prep took a 35-16 bruising from Severn School on Friday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for St. John's Catholic Prep in their matchups with Severn School: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the loss, St. John's Catholic Prep still got an impressive performance from Zion Ntemi, who rushed for 126 yards and two touchdowns.
Severn School's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Charlie Runco, who rushed for 165 yards and two touchdowns. Daniel Growney was another key contributor, rushing for 65 yards and a touchdown.
St. John's Catholic Prep's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Severn School, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
St. John's Catholic Prep will look to defend their home field on Friday against Sidwell Friends at 6:00 p.m. As for Severn School, they will head out on the road to face off against Annapolis Area Christian at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Annapolis Area Christian is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
