Recap: East Lincoln Mustangs vs. Foard Tigers
In what's become a running theme this season, the East Lincoln Mustangs gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They really took it to Foard for the full four quarters, racking up a 69-39 win on the road. The win was familiar territory for East Lincoln who now have 14 in a row.
East Lincoln was led to victory by Emma Montanari and Kiara Anderson. Montanari dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds, while Anderson scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Anderson has scored at least a third of East Lincoln's points. Abbie Hege was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Foard's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Davoney Dellinger, who scored 12 points along with three steals. Dellinger is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Imani Ikard, who scored three points along with nine rebounds and two blocks.
East Lincoln's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-1. As for Foard, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Lincoln is on the road again on Friday and plays St. Stephens at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th. As for Foard, they will face off against North Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Foard focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday.
