Softball Recap: Farmington Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Farmington came tearing into Friday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Greenwood Bulldogs 10-1. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.

Farmington's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Greenwood, their loss ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-6.

Looking ahead, Farmington will challenge Russellville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Greenwood, they will square off against Maumelle at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bulldogs 3.9, the Hornets 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
