Preview: D'Evelyn Jaguars vs. Valley Vikings
The D'Evelyn Jaguars will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Valley Vikings at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
D'Evelyn put the finishing touches on their third blowout victory of the season last Thursday. They breezed by Prospect Ridge Academy at home to the tune of 35-6. The win was just what D'Evelyn needed coming off of a 46-13 defeat in their prior game.
D'Evelyn's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Allen, who rushed for 92 yards on only eight carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Kevyn Feldon, who threw for 117 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Valley's and Bennett's game last Thursday was close at halftime, but Valley turned on the heat in the second half with 21 points. Valley put the hurt on Bennett with a sharp 48-24 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Valley.
Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Carson Adolf out in front who rushed for 150 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Devon Dietz was another key contributor, rushing for 73 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries.
Their wins bumped D'Evelyn to 4-4 and Valley to 2-6.
Everything came up roses for D'Evelyn against Valley when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 33-0 win. Does D'Evelyn have another victory up their sleeve, or will Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
