Volleyball Recap: Harding Takes a Loss

Harding lost against Pymatuning Valley back in August and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Skippers fell 3-1 to the Lakers. The Skippers' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

While Harding ultimately came up short, they really made Pymatuning Valley work, particularly in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 21-25, 25-18, 27-25.

Despite the loss, Harding saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brooklyn Butchino had 28 digs and 15 assists. Those 28 digs set a new season-high mark for Butchino. Juliana Murphy was another key player, getting 14 digs and eight kills.

Harding's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Pymatuning Valley, with the victory, they broke their five-match losing streak and moved their record to 8-11.

Harding has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Cardinal on the 2nd. As for Pymatuning Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Mathews on the 2nd.
