Central posted their closest victory since December 29, 2023 on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 56-54 win over the Starr's Mill Panthers. The victory was nothing new for the Lions as they're now sitting on six straight.

Central's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Khaven Cochran, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards. Chace North was another key player, going 7 for 14 on his way to 20 points.

Central is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. As for Starr's Mill, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-10.

Central has already played their next contest, a 64-60 victory against Griffin on the 25th. As for Starr's Mill, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Starr's Mill Panthers take on the Harris County Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
