It was a good run, but Godby unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They lost 3-0 to the Lincoln Trojans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2020.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Lincoln scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-17, 25-17.

Godby's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Lincoln, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

Looking ahead, Godby will head out to take on Wewahitchka at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lincoln, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-2 win against Columbia on the 18th.
