Basketball Game Preview: Derry Trojans vs. Belle Vernon Leopards + How To Watch

The Derry Trojans are taking a road trip to challenge the Belle Vernon Leopards at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Derry is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.4 points per game this season.

Derry took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They snuck past Greensburg Salem with a 45-41 victory. Those 45 points were actually the fewest the Trojans have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Derry's success was spearheaded by the efforts of William Stockett-Harter, who shot 60% from the field to rack up 14 points and eight boards, and Brayden Robinson, who posted 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Robinson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hudson Fridley, who put up five points.

Meanwhile, Belle Vernon waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They breezed past the Cougars to the tune of 74-25. The matchup marked the Leopards' most dominant win of the season so far.

Derry now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Belle Vernon, the victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 6-2.

Derry might still be hurting after the 78-52 loss they got from Belle Vernon when the teams last played back in January. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
