Volleyball Recap: Mt. Rainier Comes Up Short

Mt. Rainier extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping them down to 1-3. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Timberline Blazers. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blazers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

As for Timberline, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since October 24, 2024.

Leia Dela Cruz had an outrageously good game as she had 14 digs and two blocks. Those two blocks gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jovie Lind, who had 14 digs and two aces.

Looking ahead, Mt. Rainier will take on Kentridge at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. This will be the Rams' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Timberline, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Puyallup on the 13th.
