Soccer Recap: Amundsen Takes a Loss

Amundsen lost against Lane Tech back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Vikings came up short against the Champions, falling 7-0. While losing is never fun, Amundsen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 146th, while Lane Tech are ranked 13th).

Amundsen's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1-1 and their overall record down to 4-5-1. As for Lane Tech, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1-2.

Amundsen didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Taft on the 23rd. As for Lane Tech, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next game, a 6-1 win against Lincoln Park on the 23rd.
