Softball Recap: Patterson Sets Scoring Season-High Against Gueydan

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Patterson). Everything went their way against the Gueydan Bears on Monday as the Patterson Lumberjacks made off with a 19-1 win. Considering the Lumberjacks have won three contests by more than 11 runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Gabby Grogan, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Madeline Guillot, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI and two runs.

The victory got Patterson back to even at 4-4. As for Gueydan, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Patterson will take on Berwick at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Berwick is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season. As for Gueydan, they will challenge Crowley at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
