Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Suncoast walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Archbishop McCarthy Mavericks with a sharp 3-0 win on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Chargers, who have now won 18 matchups in a row.

Kyle Ross paced Suncoast's offense, picking up 17 kills. Ross got some help from Dylan Smith and his 27 assists. Ross also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Nicholas Watson, racking up two apiece.

Suncoast's win bumped their record up to 22-1. As for Archbishop McCarthy, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-15.

Coming up, Suncoast will welcome St. Thomas Aquinas at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something the Chargers surely won't give up without a fight. Archbishop McCarthy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
