Soccer Game Preview: Manitou Springs vs. Delta

Manitou Springs has won four straight games at home, while Delta has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Mustangs will host the Panthers at 3:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Manitou Springs had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the three-goal drubbing they dealt Eagle Ridge Academy on Tuesday. The Mustangs never let the Warriors get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. Give Manitou Springs' defense some credit: that's the team's fifth straight shutout.

They hit Eagle Ridge Academy with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Bri Legasrski, Kara Donegan, and Elisa Karr.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Delta). They blew past Rifle 11-1 on Tuesday. Delta have beaten Rifle the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Rifle has come to flipping the script.

Delta's victory bumped their record up to 11-0. As for Manitou Springs, their win bumped their record up to 8-1-2.

Manitou Springs was able to grind out a solid victory over Delta in their previous matchup back in May of 2023, winning 2-0. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
