Volleyball Recap: St. Pius X Catholic Takes a Loss

St. Pius X Catholic was the 3-2 winner over Johns Creek when they last played one another back in October of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Golden Lions fell just short of the Gladiators by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. The Golden Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, St. Pius X Catholic sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-14, 15-25, 15-13.

Despite the loss, St. Pius X Catholic saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Eveliina Campbell had 14 assists and three aces. Those 14 assists set a new season-high mark for Campbell.

St. Pius X Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Johns Creek, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Coming up, St. Pius X Catholic will challenge Whitefield Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Johns Creek, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Blessed Trinity on the 14th.
