Soccer Game Preview: Immokalee vs. Mitchell

The Immokalee Indians will challenge the Mitchell Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Immokalee sitting on four straight victories and Mitchell on three.

Immokalee is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They beat East Lake by a goal, winning 2-1. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Eagles are ranked 137th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Brihan Rodrguez and Yoel Barrera scored both of Immokalee's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 35 goals.

Meanwhile, Mitchell kept a clean sheet against Sickles on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Gryphons. The Mustangs found success even though the refs didn't miss a thing: Asher Bode and Thomas Lutz were both handed yellow cards.

Mitchell is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-2-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 47 goals over those nine matches. As for Immokalee, their victory bumped their record up to 16-4-1.
