Softball Game Preview: Pearland Oilers vs. Atascocita Eagles

For the second straight game, Pearland will face off against Atascocita. The Oilers will welcome the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Pearland 3.7, Atascocita 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Pearland is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Atascocita, sneaking past 14-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Oilers have posted against the Eagles since May 4, 2018.

For Atascocita's part, Zoe Bridges made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with three RBI and one triple. That triple marked the first that Bridges has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Marigny Thomas, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Pearland's win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 27-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games.
