Softball Game Preview: Dakota Indians vs. Durand Bulldogs

The Dakota Indians will take on the Durand Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Dakota 3.1, Durand 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Durand will be up against a hot Dakota team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Indians put the hurt on South Beloit with a sharp 11-1 victory on Monday. Considering the Indians have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Durand has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.88 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Monday. They lost 10-0 to Milledgeville. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Bulldogs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Dakota's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Durand, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.
