Baseball Recap: Mabel-Canton Comes Up Short

Mabel-Canton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Goodhue Wildcats. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 4-1 to the Wildcats when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Mabel-Canton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isaac Underbakke, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Underbakke has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Mabel-Canton's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Goodhue, they pushed their record up to 3-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Mabel-Canton will face off against Schaeffer Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Cougars are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Goodhue, they will head out to face off against Kasson-Mantorville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
