Volleyball Recap: San Antonio Memorial Comes Up Short

If San Antonio Memorial was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Sabinal on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Minutemen lost 3-0 to the Long Creek Dragons on Tuesday. The Minutemen were not able to make up for their defeat to the Dragons from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

While San Antonio Memorial had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 21 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-23, 25-23.

Samantha Diaz paced San Antonio Memorial's offense, picking up five kills. Diaz got some help from Alexandra Diaz and her 12 assists.

San Antonio Memorial now has a losing record of 11-12. As for Long Creek, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-16.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. San Antonio Memorial will head out to challenge Cole at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Long Creek, they will venture away from home to take on Wimberley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
