Football Recap: South Wake Comes Up Short

South Wake had lost seven straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-8 to make it eight. They took a blow against the North Raleigh Christian Academy Knights, falling 45-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 49-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2022.

As for North Raleigh Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 5-4. That 45 point margin sets a new team best for them this season.

Davin McCoy was his usual excellent self, rushing for 159 yards and three TDs. He is becoming a predictor of North Raleigh Christian Academy's success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is 4-1 (and 1-3 when he doesn't).

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. South Wake will square off against SouthLake Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 36.33 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for North Raleigh Christian Academy, they will challenge Ravenscroft at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights will be up against the Ravens' rather soft defense (which has allowed 38.22 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
