Softball Recap: Piute Comes Up Short

Piute extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 7-12 in the process. They lost 19-4 to the Milford Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-1 on Tuesday.

As for Milford, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 18-8. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 games by seven runs or more this season.

For Milford's part, Miley Willden made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off one hit. Willden was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Jaidyn McMullin was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and five RBI. She has been hot recently, having also posted at least one triple the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Karsydi Vetsch, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and three RBI.

As of now, neither Piute nor Milford have any future games scheduled.
