Baseball Recap: Colton Takes a Loss

It was a good run, but Colton unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Rialto Knights by a score of 2-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Yellowjackets of the 4-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Jesse Ruiz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, Colton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chris Trevino, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Colton's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Rialto, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

While Colton had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
