Preview: Dixie County Bears vs. Countryside Christian Minutemen
Dixie County has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Countryside Christian Minutemen at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Tuesday, Dixie County was able to grind out a solid win over Branford, taking the game 37-27.
Meanwhile, Countryside Christian came tearing into Thursday's matchup with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They skirted past Aucilla Christian 43-40. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Countryside Christian has posted yet this season.
Dixie County now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Countryside Christian, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1.
Dixie County and Countryside Christian were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but Dixie County came up empty-handed after a 37-36 defeat. Can Dixie County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
