Softball Game Preview: McCallum Knights vs. Richards School for Young Women Leaders

The McCallum Knights will face off against Richards School for Young Women Leaders at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. McCallum is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

McCallum made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Cedar Creek, but they still couldn't quite topple them. McCallum was the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over Cedar Creek on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

The team relied heavily on Nichelle Floyd, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Another player making a difference was Lila Brotherton, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.

McCallum always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Richards School for Young Women Leaders was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 29-0 to Anderson.

McCallum's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Richards School for Young Women Leaders, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
