Softball Game Preview: El Modena Vanguards vs. Esperanza Aztecs

The El Modena Vanguards will challenge the Esperanza Aztecs at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

El Modena is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of California's top teams: Canyon, who was ranked 11th at the time (El Modena was ranked ninth). The Vanguards lost 8-1 to the Comanches on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Kaitlyn Galasso made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Esperanza was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They came up short against Pacifica, falling 11-0.

Esperanza's loss dropped their record down to 6-19. As for El Modena, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-7.
