Preview: Trego Golden Eagles vs. Victoria Knights
Trego is 6-0 against Victoria since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Trego Golden Eagles will look to defend their home court against the Victoria Knights at 3:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Trego struggled with assists on Tuesday (Hodgeman County had 1000% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Trego suffered a tough 55-34 loss at the hands of Hodgeman County.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Dani Shubert, who scored 9 points along with 6 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Annabelle Malsam, who scored 9 points.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Victoria, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 65-49 loss to Osborne on Tuesday. Victoria has not had much luck with Osborne recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Victoria got a solid performance out of Averi Windholz, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 10 rebounds. Windholz scored a full 46.9% of Victoria's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Lindsey Scheck, who scored 10 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists.
The wins kept both teams' perfect 1-1 season records intact.
Everything went Trego's way against Victoria in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as Trego made off with a 71-47 victory. Will Trego repeat their success, or does Victoria have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
