Volleyball Recap: Garretson Comes Up Short

Garretson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the McCook Central/Montrose Fighting Cougars. Blue Dragons fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Fighting Cougars since Tuesday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 17-25, 25-19, 25-14.

Vivian Johnson paced Garretson's offense, picking up 12 kills. Johnson got some help from Bryn Stiefvater and her 17 assists. Finally, Madison Waltman kept Garretson's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Garretson's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for McCook Central/Montrose, their victory bumped their record up to 10-12.

Garretson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Hills-Beaver Creek on the 16th. As for McCook Central/Montrose, they will challenge Lennox at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
