Volleyball Game Preview: Martin County Gators vs. Northeastern Eagles

The Martin County Gators are taking a road trip to challenge the Northeastern Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Martin County came up short against Currituck County on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Gators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-8, 25-10.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Northeastern, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech 3-2 on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Griffins: they've now won three in a row.

Martin County's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Northeastern, their win bumped their record up to 6-13.

Martin County came out on top in a nail-biter against Northeastern when the teams last played back in September, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Gators since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
