Softball Recap: Moundridge Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

It was a proper cat-fight when Moundridge faced off against Ell-Saline on Thursday. The Wildcats blew past the Cardinals 14-2. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Aspyn Stos was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs she has posted over her last nine matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Mac Soden, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Moundridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The victory (which was Moundridge's third in a row) raised their record to 9-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Ell-Saline, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Moundridge beat the Cardinals by a score of 14-1 later that day.
