Soccer Recap: Friday's Victory Is Montclair Kimberley Academy's Ninth in Last Ten Outings

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Montclair Kimberley Academy had no problem doing just that on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Morris Catholic Crusaders a 6-0 shutout. Given Montclair Kimberley Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey soccer rankings (they are ranked 37th, while Morris Catholic are ranked 337th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Montclair Kimberley Academy is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 35 goals over those ten matchups. As for Morris Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-14.

Looking ahead, Montclair Kimberley Academy will face off against Rutgers Prep on Tuesday. Morris Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
