Wiley skates past Deer Trail with ease

The Wiley Panthers's four-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They claimed a resounding 58-14 victory over Deer Trail on the road. Wiley's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Wiley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Evan Larrick out in front who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Those six assists set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Mauch, who scored six points along with five assists and five rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Deer Trail lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kooper Eldringhoff. Despite the final result, he scored nine points.

Wiley's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Deer Trail, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wiley will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Granada at 4:00 p.m. on January 9th. Granada has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Deer Trail and Idalia will face off at 4:00 p.m. on January 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
