Softball Game Preview: Atascadero Greyhounds vs. Orcutt Academy Spartans

The Atascadero Greyhounds are taking a road trip to square off against the Orcutt Academy Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Atascadero has given up an average of 9.7 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Atascadero is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They fell just short of Paso Robles by a score of 12-10 on Thursday. The Greyhounds haven't had much luck with the Bearcats recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Brooklyn Martin made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 3-for-5. Eden Blais also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Orcutt Academy won against Nipomo on Thursday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The Spartans were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over San Luis Obispo. The victory continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won four in a row.

Orcutt Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Atascadero, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

Atascadero suffered a grim 8-2 defeat to Orcutt Academy when the teams last played back in March. Can the Greyhounds avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
