Basketball Recap: Jada Smith and Alayla Hooks Secure Win for Northeast

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Academy for Classical Education, Northeast was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Howard Huskies by a score of 49-37.

Northeast was led to victory by Alayla Hooks and Jada Smith. Hooks almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine steals, while Smith posted 13 points and four steals. Those nine steals gave Hooks a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Indiasia Belll, who had two points and seven rebounds.

The win got Northeast back to even at 5-5. As for Howard, they dropped their record down to 5-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Northeast won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Bleckley County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Howard, they will head out to take on Hephzibah at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
