Basketball Recap: Robertsdale Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Anthony Carmichael and Skyler Washington

Robertsdale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They fell 54-44 to the Foley Lions. While losing is never fun, the Golden Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 327th, while the Lions are ranked 88th).

Robertsdale's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Skyler Washington, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 18 points, and Anthony Carmichael, who went 6 of 8 en route to 12 points and five rebounds. That's the most points Carmichael has posted since back in November of 2024.

Robertsdale's loss dropped their record down to 4-18. As for Foley, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Robertsdale will face off against Fairhope at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Foley, they will challenge Daphne at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Daphne will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Foley surely won't give up without a fight.
