Recap: Tuscola Mountaineers vs. Pisgah Bears
The Tuscola Mountaineers lost against the Pisgah Bears back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Tuscola took a hard 56-38 fall against Pisgah. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Tuscola in their matchups with Pisgah: they've now lost seven in a row.
Several Mountaineers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Karsen Cherry, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Cherry posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Nora Jenkins, who scored eight points.
Tuscola has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Pisgah, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
Tuscola will head out on the road to square off against Smoky Mountain at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Smoky Mountain is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Pisgah, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against East Henderson at 6:00 p.m. East Henderson is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
