Volleyball Game Preview: Mountain Heritage Cougars vs. Hendersonville Bearcats + How To Watch

The Mountain Heritage Cougars will head out to square off against the Hendersonville Bearcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mountain Heritage has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since September 2.

Mountain Heritage had taken Mitchell down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Monday. The Cougars came up short against the Mountaineers, falling 3-0.

While Mountain Heritage ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-22, 25-19.

Hendersonville won the last time they faced Avery County and Averie Russell did her part to make sure it happened again. The Bearcats put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 3-0 victory on Tuesday with plenty of help from Russell, who had 13 digs and two aces. She has been hot recently, having posted 13 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Hendersonville took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-11, 25-12.

Mountain Heritage's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Hendersonville, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.

Mountain Heritage suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Hendersonville in their previous meeting back in September. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
