Basketball Recap: Avery Murphy's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Tempe over Mica Mountain

Tempe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a hard 80-64 fall against the Mica Mountain Thunderbolts.

Tempe lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Avery Murphy, who posted 11 points. Fred Trujillo was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Tempe's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Coming up, Tempe won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against South Mountain at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mica Mountain, they will also get right back to it: they'll square off against Gilbert at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
