Baseball Game Preview: Loudon Redskins vs. Signal Mountain Eagles

The Loudon Redskins will challenge the Signal Mountain Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

If Loudon beats Signal Mountain with ten runs on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Redskins didn't even let Sequoyah on the board on Tuesday, marking the Redskins' second-straight 10-0 shutout. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Redskins.

Not much got past Logan Moore, who gave up just two hits and racked up six Ks to keep Sequoyah off the board. Moore has become a key player for Loudon: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most three hits, but 7-12 otherwise.

At the plate, Caden Ridings was incredible, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Loudon is 2-1 when Ridings posts two or more stolen bases, but 7-12 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Parson Brown, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Meanwhile, Signal Mountain earned a 5-2 win over Cleveland on Friday.

Signal Mountain has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Loudon, their win bumped their record up to 9-13.
