Baseball Recap: Corner Comes Up Short

If Corner was riding high fresh off their 10-1 takedown of Sumiton Christian on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Yellow Jackets came up short against the Oakman Wildcats on Monday, falling 11-4. The Yellow Jackets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2025.

Corner has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season. As for Oakman, they pushed their record up to 16-8 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Corner wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 10-5 win against Hayden on the 14th. As for Oakman, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Gordo on the 14th.
